Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks are the NBA champions, and they went by LeBron James for this long-awaited first title.
Jason Terry scored 27 points, Nowitzki added 21 and the Mavericks overcame the Miami Heat 105-95 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. The Mavericks have won four of the last series of five games.
James scored 21 for Miami, but has been largely quiet after the first few minutes. Chris Bosh had 19, 18, and Mario Chalmers 17 Dwyane Wade for the Heat.
The title gives the Mavs a bit of revenge after watching the Heat celebrate their first title in Dallas after Game 6 of the 2006 final.
